After the launch events in Cape Town and Johannesburg, Samsung has announced that the new, retooled Galaxy Tab 10.1 will be available from the 1 August 2011.

We’ve been writing about Android in South Africa for almost a year, now. We’ve blasted past our hundredth post. We’re well on our way to our one-hundred-thousandth page view. Things are picking up, and a team of three isn’t cutting any more.

We were invited to the Samsung Launch event at The Lookout in the Granger Bay part of the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town, for the formal launch of the Galaxy S II and Galaxy Tab 10.1 in South Africa.

Sony Ericsson has made good on their promise to update their first flagship Android-powered device, the Xperia X10, to Gingerbread.
