On Wednesday evening Samsung launched the brand new Galaxy Note, a hybrid device that aims to combine the strengths of a smartphone and a tablet, at the ZAR Lounge in Johannesburg.

Last week, we attended the South African launch of the Motorola ATRIX and XOOM, devices that have been available abroad for quite a while.

Sony Ericsson South Africa sent us an invite to attend an exclusive event, so on Tuesday (2 August 2011), we attended the launch of the Xperia Arc, amongst other things.

We were invited to the Samsung Launch event at The Lookout in the Granger Bay part of the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town, for the formal launch of the Galaxy S II and Galaxy Tab 10.1 in South Africa.
